Adam Morrison – Assistant Site Manager

Our Assistant Site Manager, Adam Morrison tells us a little bit about himself.

Tell us a bit about your career background and your role at MiAlgae.

I’ve worked in the manufacturing industry for 17 years, with a transition into leadership and management positions over the past few years. This has provided me with valuable experience across key areas, such as lean manufacturing principles, production planning, health and safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. I’ve recently been promoted to Assistant Site Manager of MiAlgae’s Commercial Demonstrator Site in Stirlingshire. In this role, I work closely with our Site Manager to ensure operational excellence across onsite activities, with a focus on safety, quality, and production efficiency. I play a key role in liaising across departments to keep everyone aligned and ensure the smooth running of all production and site activities.

What’s the work environment and team dynamic like at MiAlgae?

MiAlgae has a really positive working environment, and I’m proud to be part of it. There’s a strong emphasis on collaboration both within and across teams, which fosters creativity and ensures that everyone’s ideas are valued.

What excites you most about the future of MiAlgae?

Being part of the solution to a major environmental problem at such a critical time is really rewarding. I’m excited to be part of the team which will drive us forward to our new production site, bringing cutting edge biotechnology to Scotland and making an impact on sustainability.

What keeps you busy away from the site?

As a husband and father of two kids – a teenage daughter and a two-year-old son) – family life keeps me busy! I’m also working on a few personal projects that will benefit the production site and the team, helping us continue to improve and grow.

Fun fact about you?

I have competed as an amateur boxer and helped my Dad run our non-profit community boxing club, Falkirk Pheonix Boxing Club. But the best one? In primary 7 I earned a qualification in Scottish dancing – though I didn’t find out until I opened my SQA exam results years later as a 16 year old.
